Planning,Monitoring and Statistics

INTRODUCTION

Currently the Planning, Statistics and Monitoring Department at Mbeya Dc has 7 core staffs who are working in the framework of the roles and functions of the planning unit at Council level.

Roles and Responsibilities of department 

  1. To coordinating the preparation of the Council’s planning, budgeting, M & E process
  2. To coordinating the assessment of the council performance, emerging opportunities and utilization
  3. To disseminating information (Policies, guidelines and directives) received from high level authorities to other departments, Subordinates and other supporting Staffs
  4. To Make systemic District Council’s Data collection and review/update; from field; departments and other sources, processing/analysis, interpreting, dissemination and storage.
  5. To make statistical assessment of Mbeya District Council’s services delivery performance and reflection
  6. To interpolate data in preparation of the district development strategies and risk management
  7. To link with NBS and other statistical affiliated parties for clarity and authenticity
  8. To coordination of Community Initiatives (CIs) before O & OD process and report consolidation
  9. To coordinating preparation of all department plans and budget using “Web based Planrep” software
  10. To prepare quarterly project implementation progress reports
  11. To identify investment and new revenue sources, opportunities and reflection
  12. To prepare LAAC reports
  13. To coordinate gender group development analysis (esp. Women and Youth), reflection/indication and documentation for community empowerment.
  14. To link with Development partners (NGOs & CBOs) working in Mbeya DC on technical and spatial for regional/area development and Tracking their performance and reports
  15. To prepare of CCM Manifesto (ILANI) implementation report.
  16. To make feasibility studies for community projects to be accrued for implementation. To identify and develop the projects proposals for council to invest in the context of revenue generation and public services delivery.
  17. To conduct EIA for all development projects (before, during and after implementation)
  18. To prepare the quarterly project implementation progress reports (CDR)
  19. To identify the community investment opportunities and development support
  20. To identify the counterpart/supplementary/Ancillary funding sources for projects implementation.
